Who We Are

bsb automation GmbH is a young company with a long-standing tradition – where experienced professionals and emerging talents work hand in hand to combine proven technologies with innovative ideas.

Founded in 2009 by Karl-Heinz Datow and Robin Wiese with just three employees, the company has grown into a solid medium-sized enterprise. Through flexibility, high manufacturing quality, and continuous professional development, bsb successfully overcame the 2011/12 economic crisis.

Since 2013, the company has been cCS Aus certified and operates internationally – always true to the motto: “Quality first!”

History of bsb automation GmbH

1996

Foundation of BSB Schaltanlagenbau GmbH in Bargteheide

Since its foundation by Mr. Bien in 1996, BSB Schaltanlagenbau GmbH has experienced steady growth. Originally based in Bargteheide, the company quickly gained numerous well-known customers.

2000

Comprehensive innovations after the turn of the millennium.

In response to new market demands, many products were updated or redesigned to meet the latest technical standards.

2009

Re-establishment as bsb automation GmbH

Following the retirement of Managing Director Mr. Bien, the company was re-established as bsb automation GmbH. Managing Directors Mr. Datow and Mr. Wiese took responsibility for its further development.

2011

Workforce doubled

Due to strong business growth and numerous new customers, the number of employees doubled within just a few years.

2012

First Offshore Commissioning

After extensive training and OPITO certification of our engineers, we successfully carried out our first offshore commissioning on an FPSO off the coast of Nigeria.

2013

CSA Certification

The company’s increasing international orientation and the growing importance of American standards led to certification according to cCSAus. This certification has been regularly reviewed and maintained ever since.

2014

ISO 9001 Certification

The implementation of a quality management system according to ISO 9001 strengthened the consistently high quality of our control systems, software, and documentation – and ensures this standard for the future.

2016

Successful Apprenticeship and Employment

Our first apprentice successfully completed his training and was welcomed as a permanent member of our production team.

2024

Partnership with Elektrotechnik Thoms GmbH

We successfully entered into a partnership with Elektrotechnik Thoms GmbH.
